Pondboy's BMW F650GS News

Monday 9th August
It's been hot hot hot.

Work is keeping me off Mellow Yellow as everyone wants their pond jobs done. When I do get back home, I am either to tired or it has been to hot. My Belstaff all weather jacket is a sauna once the temperature reaches 20c. This Saturday I shot out early and nipped up to High Wycombe to buy a Bering vented jacket and pair of summer gloves. The ride back was sheer blish. Like riding in a cool breeze. I managed to get out to visit a couple of prospective clients on Sunday morning and had a great time.

September
Lots of little rides out on me tod. Lousy weather whenever I have the time to go out and too much pond work to do when the weather is good. Typical ride out involves riding down to Basingstoke to try Mellow Yellow out on its roundabouts. Sigh.

Sunday 17th October
This is more like it. Andy80F suggested a ride to see the Beach races at Weymouth. A 110 miles of brilliant not too twisty A roads. We decided to meet the UKGS'ers who were riding though as many fords as possible in the area and stopping at Clouds Hill. The forcast didn't look to good, so I nipped down to Cooper BMW on Saturday and got some handlebar protectors. They are brilliant. Also got a pair of cheap waterproof overtrousers at MTC. Shame it chucked it down on me just before I got there.

After a chat and a good look at the big boys bikes, we wandered down to Weymouth in the company of a rather nice 950 KTM Adventure.

These motocross guys are nutters. One, its bloody tiring just watching them. Two, they ride their bikes on salt encrusted sand. I ask you!

Blasted back home up through Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Salisbury, Andover Aldermarston and Pangbourne. Great roads. Hugely enjoyable. 110 miles through Sunday afternoon traffic in 2 hours 5 minutes. Got home totally blissed out.

Wednesday 20th October
Its too wet for pondwork today, so I have been sorting out my VAT return and finding displacement activity creating photomosiac's like this, courtesy of Andrea Mosaic.

The photo's are from my collection of pond pictures, holidays, road trips, etc. The click though is to my usual 800x600 copy. The original contains 2174 pictures each around 120x160 pixels and is around 3Mb.

I also made up this numberplate.

Going to meet up with some of the Reading UKGS'ers tonight which should be a laugh.
