Pondboy's BMW F650GS News

Mellow Yellows accessories

Since getting Mellow Yellow, I have added a few accessories.

BMW Handguard

The handguards went on in September just before my run down to see the Weymouth beach motocross. V. good.

Touratech front mudguard

Cooper Reading fitted the Touratech mudguard during the pre-delivery build.
(I had ordered it before getting the bike.)

Oxford Humpback tankbag (compressed)

Pondgirl got me the Oxford Sports Humpback Tankbag for Christmas. It fits nicely and saves riding around with a Somerfield's carrier bag strapped to the pillion seat.

Oxford Humpback Tankbag (expanded)

In its expanded guise, it has internal stiffening panels which keep it from sagging from side to side. It holds a fair bit and has a clear plastic rain cover and shoulder straps for when you remove it from the bike.

Scottoiler

Fitting the Scottoiler took a bit of doing but was well worth it in the end. I took everything to bits for a good look round before I decided how to do it. After that the fitting was easy. These instructions helped.

Wirth progressive fork spring (top)

The Wirth fork springs (from Touratech) made a huge difference to the bounciness of the front end. I changed the oil to SAE15 weight and now the front is much firmer than before. You certainly don't get that pogoing effect when hammering through fast corners.
